I would like to share with you my story, which shocked me a year ago, but thanks to the professionalism of my doctor Kalieva Ayman Satyshevna, I coped with this situation.
Exactly a year ago, I learned about my diagnosis by passing blood tests for hepatitis and HIV infection for prevention. 15 days later, I got a call from the AIDS center and was invited to a conversation.
You have no idea what my reaction was. I was on the bus to a neurologist for an appointment, because my back was very sore. While waiting for a doctor's appointment, the thoughts in my head were blowing up my brain. I realized that I had been diagnosed with HIV. My head went dark, a semi–fainting state came, thoughts tore my head - from where, from whom, how? I never believed that it would affect me. I understood that this was simply impossible and it was just a mistake.
Arriving at the Almaty regional AIDS Center with a dumbfounded look, dry mouth, jitters and a deep sense of shame. I was met. The conversation was conducted by a psychologist and an infectious disease doctor. People with experience who know how to communicate with "beginners". During the conversation, we found out the reasons, the way of transmission of the virus, when and with whom there was contact that led to such a disappointing result. I was in a state of shock and misunderstanding where I was and who was next to me. But they managed to talk, calm down and give hope for a future life, gave examples about people who have been living with this for more than one year, or even for ten years, and that everything is fine with them, they live a full life as before, that modern therapy allows you to restrain all this and not show any signs diseases. The staff of the center convinced me that everything is fine and everything is fixable, the main thing is to pull yourself together, get out of stress and understand that life goes on.
A wonderful infectious disease doctor talked to me regularly, kept in touch, provided professional assistance, gave advice on how to act, what to do to improve her condition. The doctor advised communication with people living with HIV. Thanks to all the efforts and the help of doctors, life has improved, everything has returned to its course. Life goes on, therapy helps, but I'm probably still a beginner who is still afraid. I am grateful to the doctors who understand our psychological state, are friendly and humane. On our part, we are very grateful to them and to the medical breakthrough in the treatment of this ailment.
In conclusion, I want to thank them cordially, God bless you. And to pray separately for us who carry this disease. My God! Grant the vaccine!
Thanks to the doctor Kalieva Ayman Satyshevna and all the staff, our guardian angels! Thanks to them, life has returned and I just want to live, which I do!
Sincerely Z.S.
